I didn't. :) I still babywear. I'm just not as in to it as I used to be. After the divorce I just can't afford to have a big stash like I used to. I'm gonna leave this blog here and I probably won't update it anymore. Maybe someday I'll write in here again....

Newborn Stash Wishlist

I know this is way to early to start thinking about adding to my stash for the new baby, but I think this will be a work in progress. I'll add to it/delete as time goes on... and gets closer to January 2009. (Doesn't that seem so far away??) Plus I'm wide awake and bored.... and I don't want to post this on TBW because I'm sure the lovely mamas on there would start offering me stuff and I just can't afford to buy anything right now. ;) So here goes...

Wow, this list is getting long. Obviously I won't be getting EVERYTHING on this list... We'd never be able to afford it all! I think I'll stop for now and edit it as needed. If you think I should add something here that you think would be perfect for a newborn please leave me a comment and let me know! =) I prefer wraps (duh!), but open to other carriers.

I also want to try out some new mei tais. Maybe even buy a Babyhawk again... maybe a new SBP ring sling. Who knows. We'll see what happens when the time comes. =)

Anna Comes to Visit

And the first thing Camron does when we get home is take it out of my messenger bag and starts playing with it!

This is the same Anna Storch that we had around Christmas time... I then sold it to one of the local babywearing mamas. She offered to let us borrow it for a little bit so I of course I said yes! I love Anna. And it's even softer then I remember!!

New Babies to be Worn!!

If you haven't been to my other (more personal) blog lately then you might have missed the news about all the new babies!!!

First New Baby - My sister gave birth to a happy, healthy baby girl this past weekend. It's her first child and my first niece! =) I haven't been able to wear her yet... or even convince my sister that babywearing is the way to go, but I plan to get her to a babywearing meeting one of these days!!

Second New Baby - My best friend, Lizz, is going to be having her second child due in November!! If you don't keep up with this blog you should know that Lizz is the one who introduced BWing to me... so no need to convince her about Babywearing. =)

Third New Baby - MINE!! Ronnie and I just found out that we're having baby number 2 in early January 2009!! We're VERY excited!!!

I'm so happy that I get the chance to wear all of these new babies... especially my very own. Looks like I'll have to get together the perfect newborn stash wishlist soon!

OnBag - The Babywearing Bag

The OnBag is a brand new Babywearing diaper bag that I just discovered last night while I was browsing TheBabyWearer.com. It is designed and made by Sarah, a lovely mama who is a member of TBW.

I personally think these are super cute and VERY practical! I can't tell you how long I've been on the hunt for the perfect babywearing-friendly bag... I think I've finally found it!!!

Here's a quote from her website about the OnBag:

Buena Vista Kozy Goes to Sea World!

...And I didn't even manage to get a picture of us using it! =(

Since Ronnie is in the Marine Corps we get one free admission a year to Sea World. So yesterday we decided to take Camron... without taking a stroller!!! It was so nice not to have to lug around a big bulky stroller from show to show. If you've ever been to Sea World you'll know that you have to park the stroller if you want to see anything and that can be a huge hassel! Instead I carrier Camron on my back in the Kozy while Ronnie carried the backpack full of our stuff. It worked out perfectly. We were able to walk in and out of the shows and attractions with ease. Camron was even able to take a nap on my chest while we ate. When he wanted to get down to walk around it wasn't a problem. I just took off the Kozy and put it in the backpack.

Of course wearing him all day did have its drawbacks....
It was stinkin' hot! I think it was around 90 degrees by the beach yesterday!! It didn't help that Camron sweats a lot in his sleep. Wearing him also wore me out a lot faster. Despite these two drawbacks I didn't miss the stroller at all!

Over all we had a great babywearing day yesterday. =) Now I'm only wishing that we could afford to go to places like Sea World more often....

Moving + Babywearing = Happy Mom + Happy Toddler

We've pretty much finished up all our moving this week. All I have to say is TGFBW (Thank Goodness For Babywearing!) Camron has been starting to cut his back molars and all he's been wanting lately is to be held. The problem is that I've been the one that has done most of the moving and putting things away. That's where Babywearing comes in! The only way I've managed to get everything done is to have Camron up on my back in the Kozy. I don't think I could have done it all with out it. Sadly though I can't really wear him for long periods of time any more. He's just too darn heavy. He loves it though so I do what I can.

One thing I realized this week is that I've hardly worn him in anything at all except for our Inka Storch and our Buena Vista Kozy... And that led me to my post in FSOT (For Sale or Trade) on TBW. That's right, I've sold off a lot of my stash.... In the last couple stash purges I had to say good-bye to:
-My dyed Emerald Green Cairo Hopp
-My Earthy Rainbow (GASP!)
-Tobias shortie
-Pink Tom (5)
and
-Old Rainbow Shortie

I was really sad to see all of those go, but they're off to other homes to be loved and snuggled with other mamas and their babies. I'll have to get a new stash shot soon of what's left.

My goodness.. I've been so bad about updating this blog! There's been some crazy changes to my stash lately. No additions to it, but I did have to sell some of my most favorite wraps in order to get some fast money for a deposit on a house. =( I figured it was for the best anyway.... Camron is hardly being worn at all now days. I think this week has been the most I've worn him in the past 2 months! And it was in the Kozy, not a wrap!! I know, I know... and I call myself a wrapper. I actually think my next carrier purchase is probably going to be a soft structured carrier. (GASP!) If you look in my past posts you'll see that I did once own a Babies Beyond Boarders SSC and a brand new Ergo. I don't think I'll be buying either one again, but I do think I need a SSC. Anyone have a SSC suggestion for a 25-30lb toddler?? I'm so lost when it comes to SSC's!! LOL. I'll have to do research on it later... For now I just wanted to let everyone know what was up with this blog. Oh and we're moving! Tomorrow is moving day and we'll be without the internet for several days. (How will I ever manage?!) I'll update more when we get back online!

Hubby and I just got back from Las Vegas. I saw tons of people wearing their babies there... mostly in Bjorns, BUT I did a mama wearing a little one in what I *think* was a hotsling that was WAAAY too big for her!

Yup, I just bought 2 more wraps. I couldn't pass up on these deals! I've been searching For Sale Or Trade on TBW for the longest time for a wrap I could buy to try my hand at dyeing again.... That's when I came across both Tobi and Cairo. I've always loved Tobi and even bought one for Lizz for Christmas, but I saw this one and had to get it for myself! It was a local mama who was selling it so I was able to save on shipping costs. (Always a good thing.) I'm still waiting on the Organic Cairo Hopp through. Better pictures to come.... for now here's the crappy cell phone pic that Jennifer took of me at JM.

Wrap Junkie Tote Bag

Yesterday I recieved the Wrap Junkie Tote Bag that I ordered from my Cafepress shop. I'm pretty impressed! This was the first time I ordered a tote bag and I'm really pleased with the both the quality and the size of them. Plus I happen to think the design on the bag is really cute... (Hey, I can toot my own horn every now and then, can't I?!) So if anyone is interested I took a couple pics of it next to some of my wraps. Oh, I also wanted to mention that it can hold about 4-5 wraps... just in case anyone was wondering. =)

Green Tea Has Landed!

It all started with an IM this morning from Lizz telling me that Green Tea arrived in the mail! Luckily, it just so happened that today was also our playgroup day, so I met up with her at JM. Oh my gosh! Green Tea was love at first sight. Seriously, Green Tea is just as gorgeous as I had imagined. I'm so happy to FINALLY own one after lusting after it for almost a whole year!!! So, THANKS LIZZ!!! YOU'RE THE BESTEST FRIEND A BABYWEARING MAMA COULD HAVE! LOL.

Anyway, let me gush a little about my new (to me) Green Tea....
So while we were hanging out at JM today I had Cam up in a back wrap cross carry and it was the most comfy, snuggly carry I've done in a long time! It was perfect for the cold day we had. I love me some Girasols! LOL. Now, they're not the most supportive wraps out there... and I wouldn't really reccomend one for rucks or really heavy toddlers, but NOTHING compares to the softness of a Girasol in my opinion. And for what it's worth Camron felt pretty weightless in that BWCC

Now for the pictures! I don't have any from earlier today... (I forgot my camera at home.), but I did take a few pictures once we got home....

I tried to get some pictures with Camron wrapped in Green Tea, but he was moving around too much... So he got his little hands and feet in the shot. =)

OMGosh! I have the bestest friend in the whole wide world!! Guess what I'm getting as a late Christmas/Birthday present???

GREEN TEA GIRASOL 4.6M!!!

Yes, a Green Tea... and as if getting a Green Tea isn't exciting enough, it's one of the OLD versions of Green Tea! So it has a stripe of dark green, blue, light green. I'm super excited! She told me awhile back that she had pre-ordered one from Slingzilla.com... and that it wouldn't be getting in until mid-February. (And they're all made in the new version now.) Well some how she had the best luck in the world the other day and managed to sell that one and buy one that popped up on For Sale Or Trade on TBW!

Can you tell I'm REALLY excited about this? I've been wanting and lusting after a Green Tea ever since I found the Babywearing love. I can remember back before I even OWNED a woven wrap I was telling Lizz how I found this website (Slingzilla) and I saw the wrap that I wanted, but they were sold out. Little did I know just how hard it was to get your hands on a Green Tea.

Anyway, Lizz said that it was shipped out yesterday so it should be here soon! I can't wait to post pictures!!

For about the past week I've been sorta re-vamping my cafepress store. Changing the layout, changing the name, deleting old designs and adding some new ones. Well, I was feeling a bit creative last night... and a little bored with working on the store. So I was messing around with some designs and came up with these....

So what does everyone think? Any feedback? I made them with the idea in mind that people could put their carriers in them while out and about. For example when ever I go to our babywearing meeting I usually bring along at least 2 different wraps. (Just in case anyone wanted to try out or borrow whatever I brought.) And when I bring those wraps I usually put them in the Reusable Target bags... Well, now with these cute tote bags I don't have to do that anymore!

Some other ideas for these tote bags:

Instead of throwing your carrier in the car, use these to store them in there.
Use them as reusable shopping bags.
Store your knitting stuff in them.

That's all I can come up with for the time being. Anyway, if you have any feedback for me, I'd love to hear it. Or even ideas for different ones.

5 Minutes In Heaven!

Today I was lucky enough to to wrap Camron up in the most special wrap ever!! Yes, I'm talking about the much sought after, selling for $610 on eBay, super supportive and soft PAMIR!!!! Now I only tried it out for about 5 minutes, but those 5 minutes were heaven. (Would have gone longer, but I was worried about ruining it! LOL) Camron was weightless... and he was in a FWCC! He's about 25lbs... and he felt weightless. I'm not sure I would spend a whole $600 on it, (Ok I totally would if hubby wasn't here to stop me...) but it was the best wrap I've ever tried on. And I've tried A LOT of wraps! So, thanks Kate for letting us try it out!!

So you know how I mentioned that I sold off my silver, dyed green waves right before the holidays? Well the mama who I sold it to asked me if I wanted to buy it back. I had to decline because funds are low right now and I'm not babywearing enough right now to justify it. Well, it's on eBay now. =( I wish I had the paypal to buy it back. It was such a pretty green color! I hope who ever wins the auction holds on to this lovely wrap and give it the love that it deserves.

Babywearing days coming to a slow hault...

Well, I think my babywearing days are slowly coming to an end. (At least until the next baby.) My little man uses our wraps more for blankets then he does to be worn in them. Makes me kinda sad. =( Here's the last time he was "in" a wrap.... This was taken on his birthday after he had some cake and opened presents. I guess the excitement were too much for both daddy and Camron... Oh and this is a Girasol - Old Rainbow (#6) that he's all wrapped up in.

So with all that being said I'm still going to keep this blog updated. I'm still going to continue wearing Camron when he'll allow me to... But I've started a new blog called, The Wife and Mommy Blog. Just click the link to check it out. I'll be posting in that one a lot more. I wanted to keep this one mainly geared towards Babywearing.... with lots of pictures and reviews. I just wanted to be sure that if a new babywearing mama or daddy checked out this blog that they'd be able to easlily find pics/reviews, etc.

Camron's Newest Obsession

...is sitting on things. It's so funny to watch him do this because he can't walk yet so most of the time he ends up half on and half off. Well this is what I caught him doing this morning:

Felted vs un-felted Zyclam

A while back I bought a felted Zyclam NINO off of Jenn from Piece Of Cloth. I've never owed a wool Didy before, but I have seen one in real life. For what ever reason I really liked the way a felted one looked like. To me it feels more blankety and snuggly. Other people can't stand felted wraps... so to each their own. Just wanted to share the comparison pics of my felted Zyclam NINO with an un-felted one. Even the colors look really different!

I still need to buy the non-iodized salt so it still might be awhile before I actually get around to dyeing the Hopp. Maybe I'll go out to buy the salt today since my mom is watching Camron for a few hours. Of course there will be step-by-step pictures to come once I get started....

It shouldn't really surprise anyone that my stash has changed... AGAIN! Some have left, some I'm trying to get to leave and a couple new ones came in. I guess it's just because I'm a purger. If I know something isn't going to be used it has to move on. I also think it's a bit selfish of me if I'm over here hoarding wraps that I know I'm never going to use for one reason or another... So out went Red Leo (kinda regret that one), dyed green Waves, "Victor" Storch, Red/White Indio and Anna Storch.

I'm also planning on shaking up the stash a little more by dyeing one I already have! The Cairo Hopp dyed Lime Green Sherbert will be turning in to a nice Emerald green here soon. The dyes are on the way! I'm super excited about that. For a reference here are the before pics:

I got Tobias from the lovely TBW mama who also sold me Inka, Pink Tom shortie an Old Rainbow shortie... This one is a black tagged Didy, but has been altered. Someone had it shortened and fringed. Not a huge fan of the fringe, but I think old Tobias will stick around for awhile. Camron had fun playing on him the other day....

So after my rave review of waves I ended up doing something I think I already regret.... I had to sell it on FSOT. =( I really needed some extra money to get presents for my mom and sister so it was the first to go. I'm not too worried though because it's going to the mama on TBW who gave up my Polkka so I could get him back. This reminds me, I still have to get the pictures up... later today hopefully I'll find some time....

So farewell "wonderful waves" you'll be missed, but I'm sure will be replaced shortly. ;)

Wonderful Waves

With all the wraps I've bought in the past several weeks I STILL have a few that were never even tried on!! My Silver Waves dyed Green being one of them. When I first opened the package in the mail I was a little put off by the crunchiness (is that a word lol) of it. I also really didn't like the feel/look of the weave or the color. That all changed this morning...

Camron was being a little fussy after breakfast and wanted to be held. So I took this chance to try out our waves. As soon as I grabbed the wrap he got really excited and put his arms straight up in the air. So I wore him in a front wrap cross carry (FWCC) while we watched Seasame Street together. It was so comfy! I even like the color on me! I took a couple pictures, but then my camera died... It's charging at the moment and I'll get a picture up soon. So my conclusion is that waves is wonderful! For now anyway. =)

Buena Vista Kozy Carrier

I can't remember if I've ever mentioned my Buena Vista Kozy before... I bought it at the beginning of October and I really love it! It's the only mei tai that has managed to stick around. Out of all the mei tais I've tried I think this one is the most comfortable.... at least since Camron has gotten so big. It has lightly padded shoulder straps and a wide/tall body. Perfect for my 11 month old! I don't mention it much because this is the carrier that stays in the car. I bought it at a crazy low price on TBW's FSOT so I'm not too worried if I get it dirty.... Anyway, here's a horrible pic of the Kozy, but a really cute one of my son asleep on my back:

The very last packages containing wraps came in the mail yesterday! Kind of ironic because they were the first wraps and last wrap I bought. The first package was the big one I've been waiting on since Thanksgiving! In it was the oh-so-soft Lemony Inka, black tagged Pink Tom, black tagged Tobias w/fringe and the blankety soft Old Rainbow!

The second package was the Cairo Hopp dyed Lime Sherbert. I LOVE the color, but not sure if it'll look good on me. I haven't had the chance to wear Cam in it yet so we'll have to see about that one...

So here's the final stash. Ok minus the ones out on loan and "Victor"... Jim is being broken in by Lizz. (She's so awesome!) And Hortensia is out on loan to Laura.

Before I get to why my day was so lucky I wanted to share this pic that my dear husband took last night. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Earthy Rainbow?! (...and the SD Chargers lol)

Have you ever seen so many come at once? I haven't! It felt like it was already Christmas at our house.

Pink Tom- Oh how I love this wrap. So soft and cuddly. This one seems to be magical as well... Camron passed out within 2 minutes of wrapping him.

Jim- What to say about Jim? LOVE the color, but hate that he's not broken in AT ALL! I'll give him til January to win my heart over...

Dyed Green Waves- Not sure about this one either... Seems to be broken in for the most part, but not totally convinced I like the waves weave or the color. I'll give it an honest shot though...this has til January as well.

Leo Red- I'm in love with this wrap! It's everything everyone says it is. It helps that it's the softest Storch I've ever felt!!!

New Fluffy, New Pics, New Favorite!

New fluffy mail arrived both yesterday and today! Yesterday Lizz got the Tobi that I bought for her as a Christmas gift. She got it early b/c I opened it right in front of her. lol. Couldn't tease her like that! I think it was the softest wrap I've EVER felt! Holy moly, that thing was yummy! Can't wait to try it out the next time I see her.

Today I received 2 wraps. Earthy Rainbow and Victor. (Victor is a dyed green Vicky Storch that I plan to dye another color...) Victor isn't much of a looker and does NOT feel very nice at all.. he has a long way to go.... But Earthy Rainbow?? WOW!!! She's soft right out of the package and BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'm seriously in LOVE. I wrapped Cam in a FWCC and he actually fell asleep after just about 10 minutes. I think it might have some sort of magical powers b/c Cam hasn't fallen asleep in a wrap in such a long time. I'll have to give a better review of it once I'm able to wear him for a longer period of time.

New fluffies came in the mail today! I can't say what one of them is because it's meant as a gift for Lizz... like I mentioned in previous posts. I can however, tell you that my new (to me) Red/White Indio 5 arrived today!! OMGosh, it's perfect for Christmas!! Such a beautiful red color. I don't quite know the history of this wrap and I'm not sure how new it is. I know it needs more breaking in though! It's a bit stiff to the touch. It feels nothing like Lizz's Mandarine Indio so I'm hoping with lots more use it'll start feeling a lot softer.
ETA: I just re-read the FSOT post that I bought the red/white from and the mama says that she bought it new and has never washed it. AND it's only been worn twice! Lol no wonder it's still stiff.

So here's the new stash pile minus Hortensia who is on a short visit with Laura and Polkka who is visiting a TBW mama. I'll get some action shots when Camron gets home from his Nana's house.

I *think* I'm almost there!! I've bought so many of the wraps I've always lusted over, but could never afford... especially all at once! I'm so thankful to all the sweet TBW mamas who answered my ISO post. I can't wait to see it all in person!

Today Lizz and I went to the mall just to get out of the house & grab some lunch. I brought my new (to me) Anna Storch since my Buena Vista Kozy is in our car... and I am absolutely LOVING her! I'm also loving the length. Who knew I'd actually LIKE a 3.9m wrap? It's so perfect for back carries. Cam loves it too. He's starting to get excited when he sees the wraps come out. He loves his piggy back rides. Anyway, I seriously have a whole new love for wraps now. It's a good thing too because a 4.6+ meter wrap is sorta hard to come by on FSOT. Not to mention they're cheaper, which is always a good thing!

No new fluffy mail today... Can't wait to check it tomorrow! Let's see I'm STILL waiting on...

Ronnie just re-enlisted in the Marine Corps for another 4 years... and with that came a nice chunk of change... his bonus! Since I ended up having to sell off so many of my wraps my awesome hubby let me buy some new ones when the money came!! I now have 7 wraps on the way. Yes 7... Although I think 1... possibly 2 are going to be a Christmas present for, guess who, LIZZ! I feel really bad for having to sell off the Madrid Hopp I bought for her. I'm making up for it now.

Guess what showed up today? That's right, Anna. What can I say, I missed her. This time around she measures a 3.9. I'm not too worried though. I managed a nice ruck with her this evening while I decorated the Christmas tree. I'm actually loving her so much better than my original one!! This one is nice and broken in already. I had no idea that Storch's could become so soft. I think this one is a keeper...

I finally found a free moment to post a new blog! Like I said in my last post a LOT has changed as far as my stash is concerned. Basically, I ended up selling off just about everything because Ronnie and I needed some fast cash for our last Marine Corps Ball here in SD. I was so sad to see all of my pretty wraps have to go, but I knew how much going to the ball meant to him. I ended up selling off Chococabana, Revontuli, Madrid, Red Currant, and Inka!! The only one that managed to stay was my lovely Polkka.

Before the big purge of '07 I did managed to buy a size 7 Hortensia Didy! This is a new favorite of mine. It was brand new when it came to me and it was soft right off the bat. Once it was washed and dried it was even better. The colors on this wrap are to die for... there's almost an iridescent quality to it. This one will be sticking around for awhile.... Oh, and on a side note I managed to do my first good ruck with this wrap. Of course the tails were WAY too long, but I managed to make it work.

Right after I ended up selling everything off I found a great deal on a Tiefblau NINO shortie... so I bought it! This also managed to stick around. Not sure if it's a keeper though because it's a 2.7 and just a tad too small for my taste. I don't have any pics on my compter at the moment, but I'll upload them soon and add it here.

In the middle of all this stash purging the San Diego wildfires were threatening our city. I actually had to put the thread I started on FSOT on hold while we evacuated our home. The fires came within 7 miles of our house and never got any closer thank goodness. My heart goes out to those who weren't as lucky. I thought I'd share the picture I took of my wraps being packed up for safe keeping during the evacuation.

Another wrap for Lizz!

I bought my best friend Lizz another wrap... this one is for Christmas. (Although I'm pretty sure she's getting it early!) Anyway, I ended up getting her a Madrid Hoppediz. She asked me to try it out since she's out of town all this week. My first reaction is that it's pretty heavy compared to my other wraps. I think that has to do with the loooong width of these wraps. (No wonder they make good toddler wraps.) It's also soooo bright! Very cheery, but just not for me. Reminds me of the beach and sun. Very supportive. I'd love to see what it feels like once it's washed and broken in.

Yay we got fluffy mail today! Our special Polkka came home to us thanks to some wonderful mamas on TBW! He is never leaving again b/c I've decided this will be Cam's legacy wrap. We're still waiting on our 4.8 Revontuli and our 5.4 Hortensia!

The mailman hasn't come yet, but I'm hoping to get 2 wraps in the mail today!! The first one I'm waiting on is my old Polkka...the one I stupidly sold! I'm soooo happy that I was able to get this one back. I'm excited because this was our first woven wrap as previously mentioned in an earlier post. It's so blankety soft and had a lot of good memories attached to it. Can't wait to see it again.

The second wrap I'm waiting on is a 4.8 Revontuli Girasol. I just sold my 4.1 to help fund this one. I love this colorway! Pictures to come once I get them!!

I just got Chococabana in the mail recently and I fell in *LOVE*!! It's so much better looking in real life. These pictures don't do this wrap justice at all! This is one wrap that is staying here forever!! (Ha! Until I get a little crazy and decide to sell it to fund an even better one! We shall see....)

I did not feel the love on this wrap. I really wanted to love it though! Maybe it's because it was only 4 meters. Maybe it was too thin. I don't know. The one thing I did love about this wrap were the colors! So pretty... even better in real life. Maybe I'll try it again with the next baby. (In a longer size!) We'll see...

I love both of these wraps so so much! Although I did end up selling both it's gonna be ok. On Old Rainbow I asked the mama I sold it to for dibs if she decides to sell. As for Revontuli I only sold because a new LONGER one is on it's way to me! This one is on its way to a mama who is going to make an OMT out of it.

I got a good deal on a brand new Ergo when The Portable Baby was ordered to not sell them any more. I thought it would get my husband, Ronnie to wear our son more, but I was wrong. I used it a couple times, but didn't really like it. I found the straps to be very bulky and the body was a bit short for my tall 9 month old. So this moved on too... No action shots since it wasn't used much.

Anna Storch was my second wrap and the first I ever bought on TBW (thebabywearer.com). I found that this wrap was super supportive and so much prettier in real life. Very bright and cheery! Unfortunately this wrap was 5.3 meters and brand new. (i.e. Long and crunchy!) I just didn't have the patience to try and break in a new wrap. So she left after only a few weeks at our house. I think this is a wrap that will come back to us one day... only in a smaller size and well broken in!

I bought my first soft structured carrier off of a mama in the babywearing group I'm in. It was from babiesbeyondborders.com and is called a Mei Favorite Deluxe. What a super comfy carrier that was! Camron felt weightless in it as all my weight was taken off my shoulders and placed on my waist. This was our go-to carrier when we were out and about. Very easy to put on and take off.
This too has moved on to a new home... If you haven't noticed already I really like to buy and try. Only a few special ones will stay with us forever!

Polkka finds a new home...

...with me! My Polkka Girasol (4.6) was my very first woven wrap. I found it to be sooooo much more supportive than my Ultimate Baby Wrap, but a little bit harder to wrap with. With the stretchy-ness of the UBW it was easy to get Camron in and out of it.... and I could pre-tie it before putting him in it. Eventually Camron outgrew the UBW and we now ONLY use woven wraps. However, I plan to use it again when I have another little one. I (stupidly) ended up selling this to try out some different wraps. I hope to get it back someday. Writing about it right now is really making miss my Polkka. :( I think it was the perfect gender neutral wrap and it went so well with jeans! Maybe one day I'll buy it back from someone. We'll see.

My first "real" carrier!

My first "real" baby carrier that I bought was a Babyhawk Mei Tai. I bought it off of Lizz while we were on our way to walk the mall and grab a bite to eat. (I think this was in June 2007) She had practically forced me to try it on!! Once she got me all strapped in it was love at first carry! Camron felt weightless in it.. not as comfy as my wrap, but still really nice. I'm pretty sure Camron even loved it right away because he had fallen asleep within 10 minutes of being carried in it. When she had hinted at selling it I jumped on the chance to own this wonderful carrier. It managed to stay with us for about 3 months before moving on to a new home. It was very pretty and I would have hung on to it except that I started to feel the weight of Camron hanging on my shoulders. Worked wonderfully while he was still small though! This one was a black strapped Babyhawk with headrest with the Pink Tatsu print. Very pretty. I think it now resides in Alaska with a mama up there.

My babywearing days all started with the help of my best friend Lizz. It was because of her that I decided to buy my first carrier. She started talking to me about them sometime in January 2007 when Camron was less than a month old. She bought and then returned a couple carriers from Babies R Us because nothing seemed to work very well. She then decided to make her own DIY wrap. She made 2 - One for me and one for her. I've been in love with babywearing ever since. In March 2007 I bought my first wrap.... I call it my "gateway drug" to the babywearing world of wraps. It was The Ultimate Baby Wrap... the starter wrap to many babywearing mamas out there! I LOVED it!! Even better, Camron loved it!

We wore that thing until Camron was literally hanging down to my knees! It's not a wrap I would reccomend for any baby weighing over 12lbs! lol. After this wrap, the rest is history. This blog will take me through my adventures of babywearing my babies. Some carriers and wraps are here to stay forever and some will move on to new homes... Let the adventure begin!
