Newborn Stash Wishlist

I know this is way to early to start thinking about adding to my stash for the new baby, but I think this will be a work in progress. I'll add to it/delete as time goes on... and gets closer to January 2009. (Doesn't that seem so far away??) Plus I'm wide awake and bored.... and I don't want to post this on TBW because I'm sure the lovely mamas on there would start offering me stuff and I just can't afford to buy anything right now. ;) So here goes...

My perfect newborn stash wishlist: (in no particular order)

  • Earthy Rainbow Girasol (Why did I sell mine?!?!?!)
  • PAMIR (I'd be happy with any size! Please??)
  • Wildrose Indio (Esp if it's a girl!)
  • Chococabana Girasol (I miss it... not a must have, but wouldn't mind owning again)
  • Anna Storch(I keep coming back to Anna. I think I need her back for good)
  • Red Leo Storch or Red Currant BBSlen (owned both, loved both, would like either again.)
  • Silver Waves (always lusted after this wrap!)
  • Silk Indio (I just want to try one!)
  • Natur/Sand Hopp Long (10cm stripes. I have a RS made from one and LOVE it)
  • Maruyama Vat (Briefly owned, but want so badly again!)
  • Mandarine Indio (linen blend, new or old version)
  • Anna (Didymos version)
  • Sven Didy
  • Lars Didy
  • OciMeiTai (any wrap OMT would be great! I just want to TRY one!)

Wow, this list is getting long. Obviously I won't be getting EVERYTHING on this list... We'd never be able to afford it all! I think I'll stop for now and edit it as needed. If you think I should add something here that you think would be perfect for a newborn please leave me a comment and let me know! =) I prefer wraps (duh!), but open to other carriers.

Updated Stash Pic!

It's been a looooong while since I last posted an updated stash pic. I sold off a lot of it in March and April when we were trying to save up money for our deposit on the house. These are what made it through the stash purge:

Top to Bottom:

  • Natur/Sand Hoppediz SBP'd (Sleeping Baby Productions) Large Ring Sling
  • Anna Storch 3.6m (on loan)
  • Cairo/Kairo Hoppediz Long (organic version w/pocket)
  • Green Tea Girasol 4.6m (old weave, one of the older versions)
  • Polkka Girasol 4.6m (old weave)
  • Inka Storch 4.2m (lemony version)
  • Pink Tom Didymos 2.5m (?)
  • Old Rainbow/Reimu Girasol 4.9m
  • Tobi Didymos 4.6m
  • Jim Didymos 4.6m
  • Hortensia Didymos 5.3m
  • Buena Vista Kozy (mei tai, not pictured)

Once I'm in my second or third trimester I think I'll start looking in to buying a few new carriers. I'll probably end up getting a Moby just because I liked using a stretchy wrap when Cam was tiny. I also want to try out some new mei tais. Maybe even buy a Babyhawk again... maybe a new SBP ring sling. Who knows. We'll see what happens when the time comes. =)

Anna Comes to Visit

And the first thing Camron does when we get home is take it out of my messenger bag and starts playing with it!

This is the same Anna Storch that we had around Christmas time... I then sold it to one of the local babywearing mamas. She offered to let us borrow it for a little bit so I of course I said yes! I love Anna. And it's even softer then I remember!!

Ask Mr. Dad

Someone on TBW pointed this out: Ask Mr. Dad: Spoiling Your Baby. It's nice to see a well written, unbiased article about babywearing... and from a dad! =) I think I kinda like this guy. Although I wish he had mentioned wraps and mei tais too!

New Babies to be Worn!!

If you haven't been to my other (more personal) blog lately then you might have missed the news about all the new babies!!!

First New Baby - My sister gave birth to a happy, healthy baby girl this past weekend. It's her first child and my first niece! =) I haven't been able to wear her yet... or even convince my sister that babywearing is the way to go, but I plan to get her to a babywearing meeting one of these days!!

Second New Baby - My best friend, Lizz, is going to be having her second child due in November!! If you don't keep up with this blog you should know that Lizz is the one who introduced BWing to me... so no need to convince her about Babywearing. =)

Third New Baby - MINE!! Ronnie and I just found out that we're having baby number 2 in early January 2009!! We're VERY excited!!!

I'm so happy that I get the chance to wear all of these new babies... especially my very own. Looks like I'll have to get together the perfect newborn stash wishlist soon!

OnBag - The Babywearing Bag

The OnBag is a brand new Babywearing diaper bag that I just discovered last night while I was browsing TheBabyWearer.com. It is designed and made by Sarah, a lovely mama who is a member of TBW.

I personally think these are super cute and VERY practical! I can't tell you how long I've been on the hunt for the perfect babywearing-friendly bag... I think I've finally found it!!!

Here's a quote from her website about the OnBag:
"If we want to be truly free to travel with our babies then a good bag is as essential as a good sling. The Onbag has been designed to use alongside your chosen carrier, enabling you to get out and about."

"The Onbag is large enough to hold everything you need and, because it has no hard parts, your baby can comfortably sleep on the strap or rest a leg against it. You can wear an Onbag as a rucksack, shoulder or cross-body bag. You can even arrange the straps over your baby."

She wanted me to mention that she is just starting this up so if you're interested in one please don't expect to get it right away! I'm sure after posting about these on TBW her waiting list is growing really fast. However, if you just can't wait to get one you can make it yourself... if you know how to sew that is. She's written up free pattern instructions for those who'd like to make their own!

For more information on where to get these
please check out her website:

Babywearing at a Baby Shower

I was looking through the pics that were taken at my sister's babyshower and noticed that my mom had taken some of Lizz and I. They aren't the best pics, but I thought I'd share...

"Friends don't let friends BWCC without a spotter." lol

Don't Jim and Inka look lovely?

You can barely see us, but we're there!

Buena Vista Kozy Goes to Sea World!

...And I didn't even manage to get a picture of us using it! =(

Since Ronnie is in the Marine Corps we get one free admission a year to Sea World. So yesterday we decided to take Camron... without taking a stroller!!! It was so nice not to have to lug around a big bulky stroller from show to show. If you've ever been to Sea World you'll know that you have to park the stroller if you want to see anything and that can be a huge hassel! Instead I carrier Camron on my back in the Kozy while Ronnie carried the backpack full of our stuff. It worked out perfectly. We were able to walk in and out of the shows and attractions with ease. Camron was even able to take a nap on my chest while we ate. When he wanted to get down to walk around it wasn't a problem. I just took off the Kozy and put it in the backpack.

Of course wearing him all day did have its drawbacks....
It was stinkin' hot! I think it was around 90 degrees by the beach yesterday!! It didn't help that Camron sweats a lot in his sleep. Wearing him also wore me out a lot faster. Despite these two drawbacks I didn't miss the stroller at all!

Over all we had a great babywearing day yesterday. =) Now I'm only wishing that we could afford to go to places like Sea World more often....
